White-tailed eagle hike

Discover a fascinating ice age river valley on foot on this approximately five-hour day tour.

An experienced nature and landscape will keep you looking for sea eagles. Here, in the estuary of the Peene, you find about 9 breeding pairs, in the entire Peenetal there are even 18. After a short ride in the minibus (about 15 minutes) you are right in the hiking and observation area. The circuit leads over a distance of 10 kilometers through a breathtaking scenery. You observe the white-tailed eagles in the courtship, brood or hatchery, depending on the season. In addition you will discover many more protected birds and migrated birds. Numerous cranes, gray and seed geese and bleak geese rest here in spring and autumn. During the winter time you'll see nordic diving ducks such as the goosander.

On the way there is a rustic picnic with hot drinks and lots of interesting facts about the area.

From 8th september 2018 we also offer this hike especially for city dwellers. The start time is adapted to the timetable of the Deutsche Bahn, so a relaxed arrival from and departure to Berlin is possible.
